This presentation was requested by young women of the Adventist fellowship at the University of Ghana. As women blessed with higher education, they sought to established the right balance between the greater freedom, power and autonomy that modern society offers, and their fidelity to biblical principles regarding the role of women in the family and society.
The presentation addressed several biblical paradigms including power, leadership, marriage, family, society, and more. It also provided a comprehensive historical analysis of feminism within the context of the definition.
Importantly, it established a biblical case for women’s empowerment that is first in harmony with the role of each gender according to God’s plan for human society, and second, liveable within the context of 21st Century society.

This set of presentations was part of a wider effort by the Campus Ministries directorate to prepare key university campuses for Bible Lecture Seres in January 2017. It focused on revival, media evangelism and witnessing to the worldly, wealthy and well-educated.
